Shields Health Care Group offers this technology at two locations in our network, Baystate MRI and Imaging in Springfield and The Wilken’s Center in Hyannis. Both of these magnets are the only open-bore 3T magnets in their region.
With a wide opening and unprecedented magnet strength, the Siemens 3 Tesla, or 3T, is the strongest MRI used clinically today. Twice as strong as the average MRI, the 3T enables radiologists to see scans at a level of detail not previously available for exceptional accuracy and detection.

Our expert radiology team works closely with physicians to determine patients who are eligible for 3T which is primarily used for neurological, musculoskeletal, body and vascular scans.
