For patients whose scan is covered by insurance, there will be no special steps for billing. If a co-payment or co-insurance is required based upon the patient’s plan, they will be alerted to the amount prior to their scheduled appointment. Shields will take a form of payment prior to the exam.

Referrals are easy and follow traditional guidelines for insurance coverage. In addition to our referral form, there is a PSMA intake form with a few questions specific to PSMA imaging. These forms can be found on shields.com/PSMA.
