TECHNOLOGY

Our location at Tufts Medical Center has 2 MRI scanners. A Phillips 3T with Ambient Experience, and a Philips Achieva XR 1.5T.

The addition of our ambient experience offers an immersive video that helps reduce patient anxiety and improve patient care. Creating a warm and welcoming environment, it’s particularly helpful for patients who suffer from claustrophobia.

For PET/CT Patients: On Tuesdays our mobile unit houses at Siemens Horizon 16 and on Thursdays there is a Siemens Biograph mCT 40.

NEW! A.I. Powered Imaging
Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) is a new technique used on many of Shields’ MRI machines. By removing excess noise and artifacts, it creates sharper and clearer images, all while reducing scan times. AI significantly enhances exams—so you spend less time in the scanner and get more-precise results.
