Winchester Expands Physician Team with Addition of Dr. David Lowther.

Winchester Hospital’s Center for Radiation Oncology is expanding their physician team with the addition of David N. Lowther, MD to their medical staff. Dr. Lowther joins Dr. Katherine Kim and the team at Winchester Hospital where they are treating patients with state-of-the-art technology and highly specialized clinical care.
Prior to his arrival, Dr. Lowther led an affiliate office of the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at New England Medical Center, Tufts University and the University of CA at San Francisco (UCSF) where he was chief resident.

Dr. Lowther brings specific expertise in genitourinary cancer, head and neck cancers, and brachytherapy with specialized training in High Dose Rate (HDR) and Electronic Brachytherapy, 3-D treatment planning, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT). In addition to his clinical expertise, he has been awarded for his excellence and compassion in patient care.
Winchester Hospital’s Center for Radiation Oncology provides state-of-the-art radiation treatment to patients through a partnership with Shields Health Care Group. The center features highly advanced cancer treatment including electronic brachytherapy – the latest technique for treatment of early stage breast cancer. Very few centers in New England offer this advanced and innovative therapy.
