(November 2, 2022) – Shields Health, New England’s largest network of independent imaging centers, and Heywood Healthcare today announced a new partnership that provides high-tech PET/CT imaging services at Athol hospital. This joint venture marks the sixteenth PET/CT partnership for Shields Health, further increasing access to patients in Central Massachusetts. The joint venture will also expand in 2023 to include MRI services in the new surgical wing at Heywood Hospital.

The new joint venture results in upgraded PET/CT technology for the patient and physician community: a state-of-the-art Siemens’ 16-slice PET/CT system, which will offer faster and more precise scans.
