Shields & Tufts Medical Center launch new joint venture for PET/CT.
Shields Health Care Group, the leading independent imaging provider in New England, is pleased to announce that Tufts Medical Center, located in Boston, MA, is launching a joint venture with the company to provide mobile PET/CT (positron emission tomography/computed tomography) services. Shields PET/CT at Tufts Medical Center will provide services at the hospital’s Washington Street location to support Tufts Medical Center’s growing imaging needs.
Tufts Medical Center is well known throughout New England as an academic medical center offering patient-centered tertiary care and has selected Shields Health Care Group as their PET/CT service provider based on Shields’ experience in operational support and scheduling services, and their commitment to providing the most advanced technology. Shields offers high-value PET/CT services at six other locations throughout Massachusetts in partnership with top healthcare providers Baystate Health, UMass Memorial Health Care, South Shore Hospital and Cape Cod Hospital. This new partnership between Shields and Tufts Medical Center ensures patients and physicians in the Boston area will experience the most streamlined processes, while providing diagnostic imaging services with the highest standards of quality and safety.

This new joint venture marks the third new partnership for Shields over the past eight months. Shields recently announced the expansion of their PET/CT and CT partnership with Cape Cod Healthcare to include radiation oncology services and MRI services.
