Shields Health Care Group (Shields), New England’s largest network of independent imaging centers, and Sturdy Memorial Hospital (Sturdy) today announced that they have partnered to provide high-tech PET/CT imaging services to Attleboro and the surrounding communities served by Sturdy.
PET/CT scans are used to identify cellular changes in the body and may be able to identify diseases earlier than other imaging tests. This type of scan enables physicians to more accurately diagnose cancer, heart disease and brain disorders.
The Sturdy-Shields PET/CT unit will be available at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, 211 Park Street in Attleboro from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays effective May 28, 2016.
“We are committed to providing our community of patients with the latest imaging technology,” said Bruce Auerbach, M.D., President and CEO of Sturdy. “Through our partnership with Shields we are able to improve affordability and patient access to this important diagnostic service.”
“By partnering with Sturdy, a well-respected provider of high-quality care, we are able to preserve access to high-tech diagnostic imaging in the Attleboro community,” said Tom Shields Jr., President and CEO of Shields Health Care Group. “We believe patients are looking for quality health care that is both affordable and convenient and that is what this partnership will deliver.”
